Bears and Building Sets

One of the best parts of living in Connecticut beyond dreamy barns and stone walls framing fields of daffodils are the wild things among us. Nothing like a nice dose of an unexpected glimpse of a wild thing! Like Keith Richards. And now. We have bears.

In the award winning film The Revenant, bears deliver so much punishment that any romantic idea one might have of a chance sighting near the BBQ is positively squelched.
 

For the film, production designer Jack Fisk choreographed the infamous bear sequences and other wildlife pummeling, and designed a savage and memorable stage set of 1800’s trapper culture.
