BA Bringing it to New Haven / Audubon St.

Beinfield Architecture plans are underway for a new apartment complex in New Haven, helping the city grow and providing 270 residential units where vacancy is trending as low as 2%. Parking, which will be hidden within a wrap of housing, will provide space for nearby Frontier employees as well as residents.

It could also be a draw for people looking for an attractive and affordable alternative to maxed-out cosmopolitan cities.

Work is expected to start Spring 2017 and take about a year and a half.

Corsair: Art Meets History

Corsair: New Haven’s new upscale 235-unit apartment complex, where "art meets history," is slated to open this fall -
The concept of the Beinfield designed space is an homage to the intersection of contemporary art and historic manufacturing, honoring the bones and artifacts of the pre-existing building which manufactured Corsair propellers among an array of other turn-of-century products. Remember the Norwalk Company demolition last July? This is what is happening now at the site. We can't wait to see the finished product!

On the Boards | 745 Post Road in Darien

We are well on our way to the completion of Darien's very first inclusionary zoning project (at least 12% of the residential units are affordable). This project, in addition to it's 6,000 square feet of commercial space, will include 8 large apartments.

Seelan took these great pictures of the steelwork on a site visit earlier this week. There's a  rendering of the future mixed-use proposal at the end for you.

We are excited to be working with developers David Genovese and Penny Glassmeyer as we arrive at the construction phase of 745 Post Road!

This happened today...

Demolition day. And by lunch the building was down. Incredible!

It's bustling around these parts...

We've been busy making architecture. And these renderings are for one of the South Norwalk community projects we hold close to our hearts.  Thanks Eric, of Eric Rains Landscape Architecture, for putting together this beautiful announcement to herald the municipal approval of a major redevelopment in our neighborhood, 20 North Water Street.

Beinfield Designs the First Inclusionary Zoning Project in Darien

The project, located at 745 Post Road, and developed by David Genovese and Penny Glassmeyer, will be the first project in Darien to achieve the 2009 Zoning regulations requiring at least a 12% affordable housing component for buildings exceeding 5 housing units.  

According to the October 13th article on The Darien Times front page, the Town of Darien as a whole is at "approximately 2.4% affordable housing stock."  You can check out the full article here.

Beinfield keeps building around SoNo

There's been tons of action going on over at the 95/7 Parcel in South Norwalk, CT, known as District 95/7 SoNo.  But now that Planning and Zoning has approved the first phase of the project, the ball is really rolling!
